Ph.D., 1998, University of Michigan
When Angela Lindner left her job at General Motors so she could teach work with students, her boss called her naïve.
Twenty-four years later, Dec. 19, 2007 Lindner was named the College of Engineering’s Associate Dean for the Division of Student Services.
“I’ve been part of a number of universities,” Lindner said. “I find that the University of Florida students are the most incredibly talented and creative and pleasant students. I’m very much drawn to the undergraduates. I am very much feeling as if I ‘m called, and all faculty are called, to be their protectors, their nurturers. They’re awfully young when they come in, and this is an awfully big school. I consider this job as dean of affairs is a vocation.”
Besides Lindner’s dedication to education the whole student, she is an accomplished researcher specializing in bioremediation and sustainable engineering.
Lindner began her academic career at UF in 1998 in the Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences.
